Getting Ready for Week 2!

We finished up our first week of Sunshine Summer with hotdogs! They were a hit! We're looking forward to Week 2: BUGS!

Because Monday is Memorial Day, Week 2's classes start on Tuesday. We ask that all parents walk their child/children up to the registration table near the school door on the 4s side on Tuesday morning to check-in and find room assignments. (If you haven't completed payment, we ask that you do so Tuesday morning.) After the first morning, we'll do a regular carpool in the front parking lot from 8:50--9:05 in the mornings and 11:50--12:05 in the afternoons.

Your child won't need to bring a backpack until the final day of the week. We'll save most of our projects to send home then. We serve snack just as we do on a regular school day, so you won't need to worry about sending any food or drink.

PS If the weather forces us to change any of our plans, we'll send out an email and post to our FB page and blog.

Sunshine Summer Week 1

Week One of Sunshine Summer is all about the beach!  We've had projects with fish, crabs, jellyfish, and shells. We're playing with our friends, enjoying outside time, and making some cool snacks.  Beach Week has been a lot of fun!

Congratulations!

Congratulations to our PK4 graduates!  We celebrated with family and friends at our ceremony in the Sanctuary--and then we enjoyed an ice cream breakfast!

End-of-the-Year Picnic Cancelled

Because of the threat of severe weather tomorrow morning, our end-of-the-year picnic at Tybee has been cancelled.  We hope that everyone stays safe and dry during the expected stormy weather!

Email to Families 5/11/18

Thank you for such a wonderful Mother's Day program. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy a special Mother's Day with your family on Sunday. We had several dozen muffins left over that I'll deliver to Forsyth Park on Sunday morning to add to the lunch served by People Helping People of Savannah.
*We did find a set of keys left in the church after the program. If these are yours, let me know!
*If you took pictures that you're willing to share so I can post them on the blog, please email them to me. :)

Monday is our last official day of school--this year has flown by! here will be a make-up session of Sweet Feet Soccer after school on Monday if the weather is good. For those of you attending Sunshine Summer, we'll see you in the upcoming weeks.

Keep an eye on the weather for Tuesday! Our teachers who have been at WIPP for years (25+) can't remember weather EVER cancelling the End-of-the-Year Picnic. However, it does look as if there might be a tropical system forming that could impact weather all next week. As we get closer, we'll make a decision on whether on not we have to cancel our picnic. If we cancel, there won't be any school, so we'll make sure we say our goodbyes on Monday, just in case!

Our 4s will return on Wednesday for their graduation ceremony and an ice cream "breakfast" afterward. We'll email additional information to our 4s on Sunday or Monday.

Happy Weekend!
Kathleen

Getting Ready!

We've been practicing our songs for our Mother's Day Program on Friday, May 11th.  We can't wait to surprise our moms!  Below our photos you'll see a copy of the email that was sent out today!
Everyone's listening!

Guess who we love?

Waiting our turn...

We love our mommies!

EMAIL SENT 5/3/19

I'm attaching a copy of the paper we sent home last week so you've got an email copy.  I'll also add it to the blog--along with some photos from our Mother's Day practices. (The kids are really doing a great job with their songs!)

There were a couple of things I wanted to add to our end-of-the-year list:
  • We sent home our end-of-the-year surveys this week.  These are short and simple--based on the Georgia Accrediting Commission's guidelines.  If you have additional feedback, please include it on the form or send me an email.  We'd like all of these returned by tomorrow, Friday, May 4th.
  • Anyone who ordered a class photo should have received it this week.  Thanks to Miss Lesley for not only taking the pictures, but organizing all of the orders!
  • Each year in conjunction with our Mother's Day program, we collect items for moms in need.  This year we're collecting for Safe Shelter Savannah.  There will be a separate email on all of our Mother's Day stuff next week, but below is a list of items needed for the moms and children seeking help at the shelter.  Donations will be collected through next Friday.  You can send any items in with your child or you can drop them off in the box on the table by the preschool bathrooms.
  • When you see the information for classroom room drop-off for the Mother's Day program--IT DOESN'T APPLY TO THE 2S!  We ask that our 2s do regular back lot carpool from 8:45-9:00.  It helps things go more smoothly with most of our little ones if the routine is the same!
