FAQ

Can I tour the school?

Absolutely! We welcome families to come see what we have to offer.

During the preschool year, tours can be done any day between 9:15 and 11:00 (so as to not interfere with carpool). You may make an appointment by calling the school office at 912-897-7568 or emailing at wipp450@gmail.com. Walk ins are also welcome during those hours, but it is recommended you call first in case of a school event or day off. Please park in the back lot next to the playground, and come to the closest door. All cars must be out of the back lot by 11:30 so our carpool line can form, so we cannot start a tour after 11 am.

During the summer, we are still happy to offer tours! Our hours differ during the summer so please wipp450@gmail.com to schedule a tour.

What are the school hours?

School hours are 9-12 daily. Drop off carpool will begin at 8:50, pick up carpool at 11:45.

Throughout the year, there are opportunities for potty trained children to extend the day by up to 1 hour for lunch bunch or after school sports/ activities provided by outside companies, such as Tormenta soccer, YMCA gymnastics, and Dancing Little Stars. These vary throughout the year and have additional charges.

What is the student/ teacher ratio?

For our 3s and 4s classes, we maintain a 1:8 teacher/ student ratio. Each class has up to 16 students and a lead and an assistant teacher. For our 2s classes, our teacher/ student ratio is most 1:6 teacher/ student ratio. Each class has up to 12 students and a lead and an assistant teacher.

Are you a daycare?

No. We are a preschool that loosely follows a traditional school year calendar. We have similar breaks around the holidays, and do not offer classes in the summer, nor aftercare in the afternoons.

What are the age cutoffs for each class?

For each class (2s, 3s, and Pre-K 4s), children should be the proper age for each class by Sept. 30. Parents need to be aware that children with birthdays that fall after September 1 will need to repeat a year of preschool somewhere along the way, as our local schools are generally quite strict about children turning 5 by September 1st for kindergarten.

Does my child need to be potty trained to attend WIPP?

Children must be completely potty-trained for the 3 and 4 year-old classes.

Potty trained= (1) able to communicate a need to use the bathroom,

   (2) able to reasonably handle dressing/hygiene routines, and

   (3) no longer wearing a pullup

While an occasional “accident” is normal for all preschoolers, frequent accidents indicate that a child is not fully potty trained. Any child not fully potty trained by the first day of school will need to stay home for a week and complete training before returning to class. If your child has a medical/ developmental concern, please see the director.

Our 2s students do not need to be potty trained to attend WIPP.
