SY 23 24 Registration Now Open

 Registration for SY 23 24 at WIPP is now open! You can use the link below to register online; a paper registration form is available upon request. 

A $200 registration fee must be paid to complete the registration process. The fee can be paid online, by cash, or by check. 

Guest Reader: Librarian Kristi Smith

 Today we welcomed a professional storyteller as our guest reader… Miss Kristi, the Children’s Librarian at our Islands Library! ☺️ Our preschoolers much enjoyed the stories and songs Miss Kristie shared with them. She had a lot of fun big books! She shared a reading incentive sheet with all of the preschoolers (it’s in their backpacks today) that, when filled, can be turned in for a prize at Islands Libraray. We love to encourage books and reading at WIPP, and we appreciate these Guest Readers sharing their talents with us! 

Spotlight on WIPP’s PreK 4s

 Here is a little spotlight on WIPP’s Fabulous Fours classes! 

We have two PreK classes at WIPP (one class is the Top Dogs 🐶 , the other class is the Cool Cats 😸) that are both filled to the brim with exciting and novel activities that make learning so much fun! Our WIPP preschoolers leave us ready for kindergarten and with a love of school and learning.

For example…

🔦They play exciting games in centers to teach and reinforce skills.  Check out this game one of our classes played this week. They were learning letter recognition, letter writing, graphing, following directions, teamwork, and more!

🔦They do science experiments… here you can see one class experimenting with ice while another class investigates insects.

🔦They cook, they paint, they use puppets, they pretend, they build… they play! 

🔦They each have a class “pet” they get to take home for a weekend, and they create a page about their adventures that come together at the end of the year to create a class book. 

🔦They enjoy outdoor picnic lunches together in the sunshine with their best friends. 

🔦They have parties, guest readers, pajama days, dance parties, parades, performances… and more! 

🔦They CELEBRATE every occasion imaginable. And the teachers do too… these Zebra Teachers were not dressing up for Halloween but just to better enhance a lesson! 

🤩These classes really do deserve a spotlight on them to show off all that they do! 

Pajama Day 2023!

 WIPP’s annual Pajama Day was today! Our preschoolers (and teachers) came to school looking so cute and cozy in their PJs. Everyone watched either a movie or tv show in their classroom while eating a snack with their friends. Many friends brought stuffed animals and pillows, too. Since wearing pajamas and laying on blankets and sleeping bags to watch a tv is not something they do at preschool normally, it was a very novel and fun morning!
