WIPP had a very special Guest Reader yesterday…Lizzie Comfort Dog ! Lizzie is a Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dog. Some of her comforting has been in the aftermaths of tragedies including those in Parkland FL and Surfside FL; she also brings local comfort to people in nursing homes and hospitals. Yesterday, Lizzie came to WIPP with two of her humans and joined circle time in each of our classes. Cindy, one of her people, has written an adorable book about Lizzie and her job as a comfort dog. She read the book to each class and explained all about Lizzie as Lizzie herself listened from the floor with the preschoolers. Lizzie was a model student and so gentle with our preschoolers! Both of her humans are retired school teachers and were great with our preschoolers as well. It was wonderful having all three come Guest Read and teach our preschoolers about Lizzie and her job as a Comfort Dog.
