Almost August!

We hope that you've had a wonderful summer so far. We're still a few weeks away from the start of our school year, but we're posting out our basic supply lists now to give you plenty of time to get ready.  You can find the list for each class below.

Teachers will receive their class lists the week of August 13th and you should receive an email and/or a letter from your child's teacher shortly after that.

Our Parent Open House is Wednesday, August 22, at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. This meeting gives our parents an opportunity to meet their child's teacher and get a sneak peek at classrooms.

Our Student Get-Acquainted Day is Thursday, August 23, 9:00-10:30.  You can send supplies in your child's bookbag on the Get-Acquainted Day.

There is no school on Friday, August 24. Regular classes begin Monday, August 27.

Threes and Fours
With our 3s and 4s we ask that you walk your child to his/her class at about 9:00, say a quick goodbye, and then return to the classroom at 10:30 to pick up him/her. Your child will have a chance to meet his/her teacher, interact with friends in the classroom, and have a little snack.

Twos
Our 2s have their visit as a "playdate" with mom or dad, (or grandma or grandpa) some time between 9:10-10:30. We ask that you bring your child to his/her class, come in and look around with him/her, play a little bit and/or do an activity. After 15-20 minutes, you can pack up for home--but please talk to your child before classes start up the week of August 27th about all of the fun things and good friends that he/she will have to look forward to. You can send supplies in your child's bookbag on the Get-Acquainted Day.

Because one classroom has a class who will be attending TTh and a class who will be attending MWF, we're asking that all of our MWF students come by with their parents from 9:15-9:45 while our TTh students visit between 9:50 and 10:20. That way there will be plenty of room for everyone!

Our M-F class can stop by for a visit any time between 9:10 and 10:30 since all of these students will be in our five-day classroom. We anticipate some crowds around the 9:00 drop-off time and the 10:30 pick-up time for the rest of the building, so you might want to avoid those times!

We're looking forward to seeing everyone!  If your plans have changed and your family won't be joining us this year, please let us know.  We have waiting lists for several of our classes!

Summer Welcome Postcard & Email

Welcome to our 2018-19 WIPP students!

The blog is a great place to check for updates throughout the year.

This week we sent out emails and snail mail postcards with some basic information about the start of the school year. If you didn't receive an email, please check your spam folder first. Sometimes our group emails end up being flagged as junk. If we've somehow missed you, let me know at wipp450@gmail.com. If your email address changes, or if you would like to add another email address to the list, just email back and let me know. While we do still send home paper notices for most things, there's a lot that's covered in our email updates!

Our Parent Open House is Wednesday, August 22, at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. This gives parents an opportunity to meet their child's teacher and get some additional details on the start of the school year and classrooms. This meeting is for parents and should be over by about 7:30-7:40.

Our Student Get-Acquainted Day is Thursday, August 23, 9:00-10:30. For our 3s and 4s, we ask that you walk your child into his/her class, give us some fun time together, and then return to pick them up between 10:20 and 10:30. We do our 2s a little differently, with a 15-20 minute playdate. There's more information on this on our emails and postcards.

There's no school on Friday, August 24, to give teachers a chance to get all of their last minute things finished. We ask that you talk to your child before classes start up the week of August 27th about all of the fun things and good friends that he/she will have to look forward to. You can send supplies in your child's bookbag on the Get-Acquainted Day. We'll send supply lists out in July once we take stock of the tissues/hand sanitizers/glue sticks/etc. that we have left from this year! :)

Teachers will receive their class lists the week of August 13th and you'll receive an email and/or a letter from your child's teacher shortly after that with some class specific information.

Most of our classes for 2018-19 are full with short waiting lists. If your plans change, please let us know so we can make sure we open up a spot for another family.

Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks for joining us!

Sunshine Summer: Week 2

We had a great time with all of the bug crafts and activities last week. Tomorrow will start Week 3--the theme is BIRDS!

We ask that all parents walk their child/children up to the registration table near the school door on the 4s side on Monday morning to check-in and find room assignments. (If you haven't completed payment, we ask that you do so Monday morning.) After the first morning, we'll do a regular carpool in the front parking lot from 8:50--9:05 in the mornings and 11:50--12:05 in the afternoons.

Your child won't need to bring a backpack until the final day of the week. We'll save most of our projects to send home then. We serve snack just as we do on a regular school day, so you won't need to worry about sending any food or drink.

Check out these "cute as a bug" pictures!

Getting Ready for Week 2!

We finished up our first week of Sunshine Summer with hotdogs! They were a hit! We're looking forward to Week 2: BUGS!

Because Monday is Memorial Day, Week 2's classes start on Tuesday. We ask that all parents walk their child/children up to the registration table near the school door on the 4s side on Tuesday morning to check-in and find room assignments. (If you haven't completed payment, we ask that you do so Tuesday morning.) After the first morning, we'll do a regular carpool in the front parking lot from 8:50--9:05 in the mornings and 11:50--12:05 in the afternoons.

Your child won't need to bring a backpack until the final day of the week. We'll save most of our projects to send home then. We serve snack just as we do on a regular school day, so you won't need to worry about sending any food or drink.

PS If the weather forces us to change any of our plans, we'll send out an email and post to our FB page and blog.

Sunshine Summer Week 1

Week One of Sunshine Summer is all about the beach!  We've had projects with fish, crabs, jellyfish, and shells. We're playing with our friends, enjoying outside time, and making some cool snacks.  Beach Week has been a lot of fun!
