Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope all of our families have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family! School will be closed the entire week of Nov. 23, and classes will resume on Monday, November 30. While we missed seeing all our parents at our usual Thanksgiving program (cancelled this year due to the pandemic 😢), you can see the classes each singing some Thanksgiving songs on the school FB page at https://www.facebook.com/Wilmington-Island-Presbyterian-Preschool-114418748628324

I'll be adding FB videos up to Thanksgiving, so check back and see what we are singing throughout the week off.

Here are some fun moments from November at WIPP:

What a Busy Month!

October was full of excitement in the preschool! We had such fun learning about Fall, getting ready for Halloween, and having fun with our friends every day. We had a very successful pet food drive for Meals on Wheels seniors' pets, had an outdoor Halloween party, and stated our after school sports activities and lunch bunch. We are all learning so much, and thanks to our teachers' and families' diligence, staying healthy and happy during these pandemic times.

Hello October!

September is drawing to a close, and it has been a wonderful first month of school! Now that we are in a  good groove of our new health and safety routines, we are ready to bring back some of our afterschool activities. The 3s and 4s have the option to sign up for afterschool soccer on Mondays, gymnastics on Tuesdays/Wednesdays, and Lunch Bunch will start daily on October 1st. Our 2s, 3s and 4s also can sign up for Fitness Stars on Wednesdays. You need to contact the individual companies if you want to sign up for the sports.

Please note that all activities are health dependent, and will be stopped if we start having higher levels of sickness here at school. Keep washing those hands and keeping them home when sick! Our families have been doing a wonderful job keep us apprised of everyone's health, and following the stay home policy. We appreciate it!

July Email to All Families

Hello! I hope all our WIPP families are doing well and staying healthy.

As you are no doubt aware, the Covid-19 infection rate in our county is growing rapidly. Many of you have questions as to how this will affect our plans for the 2020-21 school year here at WIPP. I have been discussing the evolving situation with both the preschool staff and board. At this time, things are changing rapidly week to week, and it is not clear yet if WIPP will need to push back our start date or otherwise modify our program. I hope to have more concrete information for you at the beginning of August, after the board and I look at the public and private schools' decisions, we get some guidance from the state, and I can determine the impact those factors will have on our staffing.

Absolutely nothing is more important than the safety of our children, staff and families. All of us want to be back in school as soon as it is safe and responsible to do so. It's frustrating to no longer be able to say definitively that we are going to be ready to go on August 24. However, we are certainly still hoping and planning to open for school as soon as we can, even if we need to modify the calendar somewhat.

In the meantime, please know that we all miss the children, and are looking forward to seeing them soon. I'll send out another whole school update around August 1st, but please don't hesitate to reach out anytime with any questions or concerns.
