4s Bike Day

Today is Bike Day for our 4s!  It looks as it the weather is going to be perfect!
Check back later this afternoon for pictures.
  • Each child must bring his/her helmet to participate!
  • Please make sure your child's name is on both bike and helmet.
On your child's bike day, teachers will get bikes out at morning carpool and "park" them in the bike space.  We'll also help load up bikes at afternoon carpool.  If your child comes to Early Birds, please bring his/her bike up to the building doors when you drop them off and we'll make sure they get to where they need to go.  If your child is going to Lunch Bunch after his/her Bike Day, don't forget to pick up the bike afterward!  If you arrive at afternoon carpool early and want to load up your child's bike while you're waiting for the classes to come out, that's always appreciated!  :)

We really want the kids to be able to ride and get some exercise during our outside time, so if your child hasn't mastered riding a bike yet, please check with your child's teacher about bringing an alternate vehicle (scooter, trike, etc.) so that your child can participate.

You can make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to support them in their crusade against childhood cancer by using the envelope that has come/will come home this week or by donating online.  If you'd like to donate cash or check, please return your child's envelope to school by Monday, April 8.  Directions for donating online are below.
  • Go to  stjude.org/trike.
  • Go to find your school and search Wilmington Island Preschool.
  • Go to Register to create an account and make a donation. You can also share this page with friends and families who might want to help out.
All prizes will be mailed directly to participants' doorsteps.  All donations must be logged online (Even those turned in to WIPP.) in order to receive credit toward prizes.

Email to Parents 3/24/19

Hi Families!

We hope that everyone enjoyed Spring Break!

Savannah Speech and Hearing did Kindergarten screenings for our 4s just before Spring Break and we'll send the completed forms home this week. Please make sure you check you child's backpack! We don't keep any copies of this--and you'll need this form to register your child for kindergarten. If your child was absent you can get the paperwork done at your doctor's office or the health department.

April 4th is the SCCPSS Pre-K lottery. If you turned in a registration form for WIPP's PK4s, but are waiting to hear on the lottery, we ask that you email wipp450@gmail.com or call the office and let us know what your child's status is once the lottery is held.

Next week, our 3s and 4s will be participating in St. Jude's Bike Week. Look for a separate email later this week with information on our Bike Schedule and how to donate to St. Jude!

We'll be sending home registration forms for Sunshine Summer this week. You must pre-register for Sunshine Summer so make sure you get your forms turned on time! Children mus be completely potty-trained to attend Sunshine Summer. The three weeks following the end of our school year will be filled with fun and exciting activities! You can check the blog for some of the fun from last year! (http://wippreschool.blogspot.com/2018/05/sunshine-summer-week-1.html )

This Thursday 3/28 (4s classes, Mrs. Knudsen's class, Miss Jaycie's class, and Miss Emily's class) and Friday 3/29 (Mrs. Heebner's class, Miss Didi's class, and Mrs. Anderson's class) we will be doing class pictures. We'll send out info on ordering these this week.

Don't forget to send a water bottle with your child if he/she is participating in Sweet Feet Soccer (Mondays) or Scoops Lacrosse (Tuesdays) at WIPP! Now that the weather has warmed up, the kids will definitely need one!

Below you'll find a calendar for the remainder of the school year. If you have any questions, please call the office or email!

Happy Spring!

Kathleen

Thursday, March 7th

Reminder: No school this Friday 3/8!
Some teachers are offering conferences on Friday since it's our designated day. Others will have them a little later to give us more time to do assessments. Remember if you ever need to talk to your child's teachers, just let them know. You don't need to wait for conference day!

Don't forget to move your clocks forward an hour this weekend!

Thank you for the ink/toner cartridges that you send in each year. Recycling these at Staples ends up paying for all of the copy paper we use throughout the year! That's a big savings for us!

We've had a busy couple of weeks celebrating Dr. Seuss and getting ready for St. Patrick's Day!
