Sunshine Summer: Week 2

Aargh!  It was Pirate Week at WIPP's Sunshine Summer.  There were crafts, pirates, buried treasures, fishing poles, some plank-walking,and even a pirate ship!  (Thanks so much to the Martorells of Whitemarsh Island's Ultimate Martial Arts Studio!) We had a wonderful time.  We're looking forward to next week's Polar Freeze!

Sunshine Summer: Week 1

Bugs, bugs, and more bugs!  We had bugs hiding in the grass; bugs hiding in the dirt; and even "bugs" for our snack!

We also did some cool art projects for our Bug Week.  We painted bugs, made tissue paper bugs and beaded bug-catcher necklaces, and used fly swatters to make some cool (and messy!) paintings.

We also went on a little bug hunt with our I-SPY-FLY-EYES and binoculars.

Some of us practiced our bug-catching skills with balloons!  We got pretty good at it.

Happy Mother's Day!

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Mother's Day program such a success.  We were blessed to have beautiful weather for our picnic afterward--and we have two big boxes of toiletries to deliver to Tybee's Rising Tyde Food Pantry!

Getting Ready for Mother's Day!

We're almost ready for our Mother's Day program on Friday! We've been finishing up our gifts and practicing our songs.  We can't wait to show you them!

Remember this is not a regular school day for us.

Please walk your child to the classroom between 9:00 and 9:15, then head over to the Sanctuary to get a seat. The 4s will be from the center to the left side of the altar (Summer Breeze side) during the group performance; the 3s will be from the center to the right side (parking lot side) of the altar; and the the 2s will be in the front center. Each class will also sing an individual song while standing at the center of the altar.

After the program you're invited to join us for a picnic in Memorial Gardens and the Bill Lester field (the site of our former playground.) We'll provide muffins and drinks--don't forget to bring your picnic blanket! If you'd like a professional 5" X 7" photo of you and your child, Photography by Lori will be in Memorial Gardens after the program. Cost is $8 and must be paid when the photo is taken. They will be mailed to each family ordering so please make sure that your school contact address is up-to-date.
